Kestrel is a resident and guard in the Elven nation of the Eastern Forest, typical in every way except that his partial human heritage makes him the victim of discrimination by those of pure Elven ancestry. And when the elves face war with the humans of the neighboring nations, Kestrel is distrusted and removed from combat duty. But the gods of both races see a roll for Kestrel to play in a greater, and more sinister battle that will consume humans and elves alike, and they shower him with favors that press him into a new service as an elven spy. Only his superiors never expected Kestrel to find the life of the humans to be so appealing or his adventures to spin so far beyond expectations.

I've gotten to about book 4 and stopped. May go back to it to finish and may not. The series is okay, but not especially outstanding. The one thing that really turns me off the main character is that he can't seem to make up his mind as to which woman is the one he's really interested in. It's a very annoying case of "love the one you're with". Whichever woman he happens to be around at the time is the one he really loves or wants a relationship with. Irritating.Product details

The Healing Spring The Inner Seas Kingdoms Book 1 eBook Jeffrey Quyle Reviews
Love the way the story is going.
Enjoy the writing style of author
Wow, is all I can say. This is a great book if you like elves and such. I'm not giving any details. Read the book. You won't be discouraged.
Enjoyed he read. Will read the next one in the series. I did not like how the book ended. It was too sudden.
A winning story filled with minutiae, yet skillfully done so that it’s all very interesting and enjoyable. The editing is also excellent, and I look forward to reading more. Recommended.
***If you read nothing else from my review, please read this.... The excerpt from Book 2 that is found at the end of this book has some EXTREME spoilers in it. I was shocked that an author would spoil his own plot that way.
That being said, I enjoyed reading this book. The main character is extremely likable, with a strong sense of right and wrong. This is a book for people who like their Good and Evil clearly defined. Other than racial prejudice by random, unknown characters, the nice people are good, and the evil people are rude and horrific.
The concept of Kestral being a Champion is an interesting one, especially near the end of the book when the reason behind it is given a bit more depth. The book has enough action to keep it moving without making it seem like a 300 page battle. I'm interested to know more about the world that Mr. Quyle has created, and will most likely read he next installment in the series (though I can probably skip the first half thanks to the spoilers contained in the excerpt at the end of The Healing Spring haha)
My number one complaint is one that is apparently shared by several other reviewers - every woman Kestral comes in to contact with falls in love with him (even one who, days before, lost a husband in a sudden and violent death). It's a pet peeve of mine, and if it continues I won't be reading the series.
Let me tell you, this book starts SLOW. so SLOW i wanted it to put it down so many times but almost near the end it starts to become really interesting! i couldn't put it down after that until the book 5 where i am reading now.
it is an interesting book where the lead character keeps wondering all the time WHY HE, he is just a normal half human half elf being and he is a good guy that always thinks everything, not the type to rush into things without thinking and he almost always gets hurts but hey there's a river that cures everything and he has some little friends that always transport him there so he is always safe.
Anyways one thing i found awkward and made me want to skip those pages was that the lead character always fell in love with a women in a different part of the world where he was, even thou he had someone somewhere else! i mean come on, at times it was like he just wanted to be loved without caring whom she was! ok as long as she was beautifull that's all. he always was thinking " maybe we could developed something" with any girl. That was AWKWARD.
apart from that i truly enjoyed reading this book.
if you like lord of the rings type of book then you will LOVE even more this one.
